News report from The Port Authority of Thailand (PAT) revealed that PAT has opened a bidding for construction using electronic methods (e-bidding) for construction of buildings, piers, road systems and public utility systems which is part 2 of work, Laem Chabang Port Development Project Infrastructure Phase 3 has a median price of 7,387.518 million baht, with 4 bidders including Italian-Thai Development Public Company Limited or ITD, Nawarat Patanakarn Public Company Limited or NWR, China Harbour Engineering Company Limited and Unique Engineering and Construction Public Company Limited or UNIQ, which it appears that China Harbour Engineering Company Limited is the lowest price bidder at 7,298 million baht.

By examining the qualifications and technical documents, there are 2 company who pass the criteria to bid: Nawarat Patanakarn Public Company Limited and China Harbour Public Company Limited. As for Italian-Thai and Unique, it was found that the documents were incomplete according to TOR.

PAT has reported the results of the bidding to the PAT committee meeting with Mr. Chayatan Phromsorn,Ph.D. Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Transport, as chairman, has been acknowledged on March 28, 2024. At this time, it is the process of announcing the auction results. If there is no appeal, It is expected that the contract can be signed within 2 -3 months.

The Department of Highways (DOH) is in the process of considering technical proposals from three contractors, consisting of China Harbor Engineering Company Limited, Italian-Thai Development Public Company Limited and Sino-Thai Engineering and Construction Public Company Limited which submit bidding proposals for the intercity special highway (motorway) construction project No. 7 or M7, extension section connecting U-Tapao Airport, distance 1.92 km., budget 4,508 million baht, to be completed within August. DOH plans to sign a contract and begin construction within this year. Construction takes 2.5-3 years, expected to be completed in 2070.
